Oh hey!! It has been a long time, but I have missed this space and sharing things I’m loving. I recently came back from a vacation and my head just felt like it wasn’t screwed on right or something. I took some time to journal a couple days and it made me realize how much I just miss writing. In college, I used to write about my day daily (for myself). I think back on that time and really feel like it helped me process things. So it’s time to bring the writing back. While some is personal, I miss sharing things too.
After having very unsuccessful online and in person shopping experiences the past month, I decided to schedule a Stitch Fix box. As the weather started getting cooler, I was so excited to put on my Stitch Fix sweaters I received last year around this time. It feels great to be excited about what you are going to wear. I also feel like their clothes are great quality, even when you choose the lower price range. I really do wear everything I have received from Stitch Fix over the last 7 years. In fact you can check out my first Stitch Fix here. I probably average 1-2 boxes a year. I love that I can just pick when I want to receive a box and request specific items. I am often surprised with some items as well. A new experience this time was that I got a Stitch Fix Preview of items. I selected 3 of the items and added some feedback to fill the other 2 pieces. While I love the element of being surprised with Stitch Fix, I think the preview feature is really nice to ensure you will get pieces you love.
While I have had a couple fails, I have had many full box winners in the last couple years. Now that I have tons of feedback on my profile, the stylist is really great at picking things that I like, but also would probably fail to pick out myself. This latest box was no exception. Spoiler: I kept everything! My main reason for the request was for some new work pants. I often request Stitch Fix for blouses and dresses, so it’s not often I have a pants request. They definitely met my needs and I look forward to wearing my new comfy pants.
Let’s get to it, what was included?
Item #1 is Helina Mixed Material Blouse by Fortune + Ivy – $40.00
I can’t tell you how much I LOVE this blouse. Not only is the material super soft, but I just LOVE the color. I think the price was right too. If you think about the prices of blouses at Banana Republic and similar stores, I feel this is good. Honestly, I think $40 is the lowest I have had on my bill for shirts. I only keep items I truly love and know I will wear over and over again.
Item #2 is Estefany Lace Detail Split Neck Blouse by Daniel Rainn – $64.00
This was the most expensive item in my box this time. Honestly if I did not want to keep everything, I may have returned this. However, it fits great and I just wore it to work and I do love the color. Lace isn’t typically my style, but sometimes it’s good to get something out of your comfort zone.
Item #3 is Fia Bootcut Trouser by Tribal – $58.00
You see me wearing these with the blue lace top above. Bootcut is my favorite style of pants. I haven’t really strayed from that in well…..ummm maybe ever?! I realize bootcut is not so “in” anymore, but I just find the style comfortable. This pair of pants feel like cheater work pants in that there is not button or clasp. The waist stretches and you pull them up. They are also high waisted, again, not a trend I have been following, but these are pretty comfortable and can sit right at my belly button. I find pants that go above the belly button uncomfortable for myself. I wore these for a whole workday already and really loved them though. I would say the only downside is there are no pockets in the pants. They seem to have sewn back pockets and I don’t know if those are really pockets or fake. The price point though I think is really great, as usually the work pants I get are near $100, but then I try to find those 50% off sales, so the price is spot on in my opinion.
Item #4 is the Fia Straight Trouser by Tribal – $58.00
Same brand, but different style of pants. Again the waist band stretches and you just pull them up. They are more 7/8 length with the straight style. I’m still not in love with 7/8, but I think these would be cute for fall with some booties. I recently purchased a pair of brown booties and tried them on with these pants and think it looks cute. This is my first pair of a straight style pant, but again, good to try something new.
Item #5 is Nickole Textured Pullover by Pink Clover – $44.00
This is pictured above with the straight trouser pant. I knew as soon as I pulled this sweater out of the box I would love it. It’s soft and also a previous brand Stitch Fix has sent me. In fact, I was wearing my sweater from last year by Pink Clover when I opened the box. As I receive more and more boxes, I definitely find the brands I like. Again I think the price point is right with this and I’m looking forward to wearing this sweater through Fall and Winter.
So what does the price of this Stitch Fix come to? When you keep all the items, you get a 25% discount. My box, before tax, totaled $198.00. With my price point set to the lowest for most items, I have found this to be the average price for a box I have kept. Overall, it’s certainly not cheap, but for me it’s about quality. This is why I only schedule 1-2 boxes a year. It helps freshen up my closet with some new pieces I can wear and wash again and again. With the 25% off, if you love 4 of the pieces, you might as well keep everything because usually the discount yields 1 item “free.” I have previously kept everything and not liked 1 piece so I gave it away to someone. I’m very excited to wear these new pieces. I have been going through my closet and finally letting go of some of the blouses purchased back in 2012 right out of college. Although I can fit most of the blouses still, I just don’t get excited about them like these new pieces.
This post is not at all sponsored. I just really love Stitch Fix.
