Happy Thursday!! I can’t believe there are only 2 days until November!! Oh yeah and Halloween is tomorrow, we can’t forget that. I’m planning to attend a Halloween yoga class, though I will be wearing regular yogi clothes. I know I am so boring. I am curious to see how others dress up though. Anyway it has been quite a busy week, so let’s catch up with some thinking out loud with Amanda.
1. On Monday, I learned that it is not good to have only 1 accessible bathroom at work. Plumbing issues and our bathroom closed without notifying anyone. We were then told to bug the people on the 18th floor (2 floors above us) to use their ladies room. I took a bathroom “field trip” with a few other ladies so that I didn’t have to go alone. You know how ladies have to have a buddy for the bathroom.
2. After work on Monday, I went to the gym for a quick weight workout, then I had to fill out a form to cancel my gym membership starting in December. I have to focus on yoga now. I have unlimited yoga though for the next 6 months as we have to complete at least 50 classes at the studio. Should be fun! Plus I save over $300 so that’s always a plus. I am thinking of buying some heavier dumbbells to have at home too.
3. Tuesday I came home to a missed package slip from Fed Ex. I called a couple people to ask if they sent me something trying to solve the mystery of what was in this package I had to sign for. No one said they sent me anything. A couple hours later though my bf remembered I was expecting my laptop to come any day now. Totally forgot about that. So yesterday they delivered the laptop successfully in a very large box. Hoping it functions now.
4. I dropped my car off yesterday after work to get snow tires put on for the first time. They will also be inspecting my tire sensors seeing as I have been driving with the light on for over a month now. I dream of having more than a month without the tire light popping on….sigh…Hopefully they fix it and it doesn’t cost me too much and I hope the snow tires will help me to feel safer driving this winter.
5. After I dropped my car off, I headed to a new to me yoga fitness studio. It is literally right next store to the auto place. I stopped in there the other day when I went to ask about my tires and learned they have hot yoga, so I took my first official hot yoga class. My first class was free which was awesome, except I didn’t bring my mat with me and I had to pay $1 to rent a mat that smelled like stinky feet (yeah it was gross). At least the class was free though. Next time I am definitely bringing my own mat, not only to save $1, but also because I forgot how much I slip and slide on the generic mats, add a 100 degree room and you are sweating in the first pose. It was challenging, but the class was really good with lots of hip openers and a great way to detox. Might go to the place occasionally as a treat as it is pricey, but it is convenient to walk to (until I move in April).
6. This weather we have been having is crazy, but I am totally not complaining about the 70 degrees the other day. It has been wonderful to go outside during my lunch break still. I have a feeling that will change in November. At least my office is moving in 3 weeks and the new place has a lunchroom. I am looking forward to that for the winter months.
7. Since Halloween is tomorrow, let me show you my favorite Halloween candy.
I was so happy Wegmans sold candy in the bulk area. That way I could just get a small bag full. I plan to leave most of the candy on my doorstep for the kids in my apartment tomorrow, but I might keep the 4 boxes of Nerds I have.
7. Tonight I am planning to make some Halloween brownies to bring into work tomorrow. If they turn out well, I will post a picture tomorrow.
8. I can’t wait for the weekend to get here. I don’t have yoga training, but I will be attending some yoga classes and hoping to finish (I mean start and finish) my yoga homework since I definitely didn’t start that yet…oops. The couple times we have back to back weekends are going to be rough.
Do you have any plans for Halloween?
What’s your favorite Halloween candy?
